Bespoke joinery, made by hand and built to last.

AKL Joinery is a bespoke joinery workshop serving London and the Home Counties. Every piece we make — kitchens, staircases, fitted furniture, panelling — is designed from scratch, bench-made by our own craftsmen, and installed by the same hands that built it. No templates, no flat-packs, no shortcuts.

The Workshop

Craft, uncompromised

For us, joinery has only ever meant one thing: work that does justice to the homes it lives in. We began as a small workshop with a simple belief — that a fitted kitchen or a staircase deserves the same care an architect brings to the building around it.

Today we work with architects, interior designers, contractors and private clients on projects across the capital and the surrounding counties. The way we make things hasn't changed in spirit; it has been refined with every commission we've delivered.

01 — Where it begins

Conceived from scratch

Every project starts with the space and the brief — never a catalogue. We measure, draw and prototype around how you actually live or work, then design joinery that belongs to the room rather than being dropped into it.

That means fewer projects done properly rather than many done generically. It means sitting down with your drawings, talking through proportion, materials and hardware, and getting the detail right on paper long before a single board is cut.

02 — In the workshop

Made by hand

Everything is bench-made at our High Wycombe workshop. Our makers work the way good joiners always have — with an eye on the grain, the joint and the finish — supported by the precision of modern machinery where it earns its place.

The craft shows in the things you don't always see: solid hardwoods and hand-selected veneers, properly cut joints, hand-applied finishes, and considered hardware chosen to last decades, not seasons.

03 — On site & beyond

Installed by our own team

We don't hand your project to a stranger. The same team that builds your joinery installs it — arriving prepared, hand-inspecting every component, and finishing to a standard we're happy to put our name to.

You're welcome to see the work in person at our East Finchley showroom, where finished pieces, samples and hardware are laid out to handle. And once a project is complete, we're still here — for advice, care and anything the years might ask of it. Visit the showroom →
