Questions about
bespoke home bars

Not covered here? Call us on 01494 261 564 — we'll answer straight away.

What appliances can you integrate into a home bar?
We regularly integrate undercounter refrigerators, wine coolers, ice makers, glasswashers, bar fridges and undercounter dishwashers. We specify appliances that are correctly sized for the joinery and designed for bar use — domestic appliances are not always suitable. We'll advise on the right specification for your usage.
Do home bars add value to a property?
A well-designed, well-built home bar absolutely adds value — both to the enjoyment of the home and, in the right property, to its market value. Estate agents consistently report that a quality home bar or wine room is a feature that premium buyers specifically seek out.
Can you design a bar that works within a living room without dominating it?
Yes — a drinks wall that sits behind a sofa, or a drinks cabinet that reads as joinery first and bar second, integrates beautifully into a living room. The key is designing the proportions so the bar element is part of the overall furniture scheme rather than a standalone object. We design these regularly.
What's the difference between a bar counter height and a kitchen island height?
A kitchen island is typically 900mm high — standard worktop height. A bar counter is 1050–1100mm — the height at which people stand comfortably with a drink. Bar seating is correspondingly higher: bar stools at 650–750mm seat height. We'll confirm the right heights for your specific design.
Can you build a bar with a sink and running water?
Yes — integrated bar sinks with hot and cold water are a popular addition. We design the joinery around the plumbing requirement and coordinate with your plumber for the supply and waste connections.

A home bar is about the evenings it creates, not just the cabinet it sits in.
